he lantern clock is very interesting in its own right. Not only has it been made by one of Shropshires earliest known domestic clockmakers, but It is in an amazing original condition, retaining all of its original wheelwork. It has goblet shaped collets and a verge pendulum, which is positioned inside the backplate, the top and bottom plates are made of iron instead of brass and it has an integral iron hoop, indicating that Richard Savage was a maker who clearly thought for himself.
